Movies like The Lone Ranger and RIPD, not to mention After Earth and Jack the Giant Slayer, failed to fill the seats, while The Conjuring, which had a budget of only $20 million has been a sleeper hit of the summer. What is responsible for the big budget films shortfall? Are studios out of touch with their audiences? Is the heavy advertising negatively affecting impressions of movies? Or are these movies just bad? When one of the most popular movies of a summer is Syfy's "Sharknado" the major film industry appears increasingly out of touch. Film critic, Jeff Meyers talks with Craig Fahle about what happens when a blockbuster is a bust.
