Dozens of Detroit residents gathered at the Coleman A. Young municipal Center to argue against the proposed demolition of the State Savings Bank. The owners submitted a request to tear down the historic structure to make room for a parking garage to support The Penobscot Building which they also own. The Detroit Historic District Commission voted to block the demolition plan. Joining Craig in studio is WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen who covered the meeting last night.
