The state Legislature approved a measure that would move lawsuits with the state away from the Ingham County Circuit Court and directly to the state Court of Appeals. That means suits would bypass what is considered a fairly liberal-leaning group of judges. The measure was approved by the Republican majority in the Legislature and now heads to Governor Snyder’s desk. Michigan Public Radio’s Rick Pluta joins the show to explain the bill and why it matters.
