Voter registration is based off the address on your driver license, so is auto insurance. The link between the two is effecting the turn out at polls in Detroit. Residents who live in Detroit are paying nearly two or even three times the amount for auto insurance as compared to people who live in the suburbs. Most new residents moving to Detroit are refusing to change their address to avoid a drastic jump in insurance. With Detroit in the middle of an election, the city is in need of active and engaged voters.
