Michigan Ranks 34th in U.S. Overall Health

Executive vice president and chief of medical affairs for United Health Group, Dr. Reed Tuckson talks to the Craig Fahle Show about the organizations study which found Michigan ranked 34th in overall health. the study cites that Michigan has some health positives such as low percentage of uninsured population, small disparity in health status by educational attainment, low incidence of Salmonella infections. However, the high prevalence of obesity, violent crime and smoking kept Michigan out of the top half of healthy states. The State of Hawaii was ranked highest in overall health.
