Politics: Lawmakers Leaving Lansing Early to Move Medicaid Expansion Along

Lawmakers may leave for the holidays early this year… and it could be to spur Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act. The end of a legislative calendar is called “sine die” and signals the end of legislative work for the year. The Medicaid expansion had to wait for “sine die” to take effect, because the measure was denied immediate effect by lawmakers.
