Wednesday, May 21, 2014

In an ongoing "Mayor of" series: Mayor Jack Kirksey of Livonia, Michigan, stops into the WDET studio to discuss what's going on in his city and the issues it faces today. He has a long and extensive political career, but started off as a school principle. Livonia is the ninth largest city of the state of Michigan. "I've been a resident for a long long time" says Kirksey. He says the city's motto is "everyday's a thrill, some more than others". Kirksey speaks about Livonia's perfect location, being about 20 minutes from the airport. In addition, the mayor speaks briefly on how the city has changed and improved with the advances of technology.
