Local jazz hero, Walt Szymanski, returns home to Detroit after over two decades away. Szymanski first earned fame as a member of the Motor City Jazz Quintet. He decided to leave his home 21 years ago and continued to refine his craft as a headliner in New York. Szymanski's love for jazz music eventually led him to Ecuador where he spent his time composing music, teaching jazz to others, and touring. Szymanski has returned home and reunted with two members from the Motor City Jazz Quintet, Paul Keller and Phil Kelly.

Walt Szymanski will be preforming at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe. Performances will be Wednesday July 17 through Saturday July 20.
