Wednesday, February 12, 2014

'Expect a long spring, cooler summer and lingering Autumn'. The aerial map of the Great Lakes that shows ice cover indicates 87% of the waters are covered with ice. That is nearly as much as 1994 when 90.4% of the lakes were covered and approaching 1997 when 94% of the lakes were ice covered. Craig speaks with Research Ice Climatologist/ Physical Oceanographer for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; Jia Wang about the ice coverage and how it effects wildlife and plant life.
