First Responders Get Training to Learn to Interact With Homeless Population

There are roughly 20-thousand homeless people in Detroit. Rookie police officers, emergency medical technicians, and firefighters are being trained on how to interact with this segment of the population. Doctor Staci Hirsch from the Neighborhood Service Organization is conducting the trainings. She spoke to WDET’s Martina Guzman about the stark differences of how to approach civilians and homeless people.
