The Detroit Institute of Arts' auxiliary group, Friends of Modern & Contemporary Art, recently launched a series of conversations and panel discussions inspired by author and sociologist Sarah Thornton’s book, Seven Days in the Art World. The series is called, Which Side Up, and features some of the top players in today’s art world. Rebecca Hart is the museum’s Contemporary Art Curator. She spoke with WDET’s Anna Sysling about the lecture series and why it’s relevant to Detroit’s creative community --now more than ever.

The next installment of the seven-part Which Side Up lecture series is "The New Art Marketplace: Is Connoisseurship Giving Way to Speculation?" and it takes place December 11, 2014 in the Danto Lecture Hall in the DIA.
