Thursday, November 1, 2012

U-S automakers are posting modest sales gains for the month of October.

The automakers posted the gains, despite the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy….which disrupted commerce in the northeastern U-S for the last few days of the month.

Chrysler posted sales gains of 10 percent compared to a year ago. Officials say it’s the automaker’s best October in five years.

General Motors watched its sales rise five percent for the month. Demand for fuel-efficient cars, such as the Chevy Sonic and Cruze, showed double digit growth.

Ford sales were essentially flat in October.

Meanwhile, Toyota showed growth with sales jumping roughly 16 percent for the month. Honda sales grew nearly nine percent.
