RTA Begins Tough Task Of Improving Mass Transit

Southeast Michigan’s new Regional Transit Authority met for the first time yesterday in Detroit. State lawmakers created the RTA last year…to improve mass transit in Metro Detroit…and implement projects such as bus rapid transit and light rail on the Woodward Avenue corridor. State Senator Bert Johnson was one of the "driving" forces, if you will, behind creation of the RTA. WDET's Pat Batcheller asked Sen.
