Call to Raise the Federal Minimum Wage

In his State of the Union speech, President Obama called for an increase in the national minimum wage. The current minimum wage is set at $7.25 per hour, but the President would like to see it increased to $9.00 by 2015. This is often a divisive issue among politicians…and even economists. But as Acting U.S. Labor Secretary Seth Harris tells WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen, raising the minimum wage is a good economic driver.
