From Sin City to the Motor City: Behind the Re-Design of the Chrysler 200

January 13, 2014

A project three years in the making, Chrysler Group debuted its redesigned Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan at the North American International Auto Show today [Mon].

The noticeably sportier car is backed by an expected highway fuel economy rating of 35 miles-per-gallon.

Jeff Hammoud is design manager for Chrysler and Fiat. The 200 is more or less his baby. Hammoud tells WDET’s Travis Wright that key stylistic characteristics of the new car were inspired after an executive order to get out of Motown and head to Sin City.
