Moody's Says Bankruptcy For Detroit Won't Hurt Oakland or Wayne County


When Governor Rick Snyder tapped Kevyn Orr as Detroit’s first emergency financial manager last week, bond credit rating agencies such as Moody’s Investor Services and Standard and Poor’s responded positively.

Genevieve Nolan is assistant vice-president of public finance at Moody’s and their lead analyst for the city of Detroit. She tells WDET’s Travis Wright that if Detroit is headed for bankruptcy, surrounding communities, and their leaders, need not be worried.
