Bob King: UAW Will Keep Fighting Right-to-Work

March 28, 2013

Michigan is now a right-to-work state. A new law starts Thursday banning mandatory union dues and membership for most workers in the state. It makes an exception for police and fire bargaining units. It’s been three months since the law was passed at the end of the Legislature’s lame duck session. But opponents of the law are just as upset about it now as they were then. Union protests are planned, and the law faces a number of legal challenges. WDET’s Pat Batcheller spoke with Bob King, the president of the United Auto Workers. King is still unhappy with Governor Rick Snyder and Republican lawmakers for passing the law. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.
