Detroit City Council members expect to vote Wednesday afternoon on a consent agreement to keep Governor Snyder from appointing an emergency financial manager for the city. The council didn't vote on the deal Tuesday, citing legal battles over the agreement. Deputy Mayor Kirk Lewis says he appreciates the council's seriousness, but warns that the governor may appoint an emergency manager if the council doesn't act soon. Thursday is Snyder's deadline for the city to accept an agreement. WDET's Pat Batcheller spoke with Councilmember Saunteel Jenkins on Wednesday morning.
