After making national noise with his first band, James and the Rainbros, singer James Linck’s plaintive falsetto voice became the subject of conversation in many Detroit music circles.

His second band, the notably talented, fresh and categorically ambiguous group House Phone made more lush pop music before disbanding last year.

Tomorrow [SATURDAY, June 15th 2013] night at a double album release party with ambient electronic duo Phantasmagoria, James Linck will release his first solo record, “Fortress of Solitude.”

He tells WDET’s Travis Wright, the album is unflinchingly honest.

James Linck and Phantasmagoria are throwing a dual record release party tomorrow [SATURDAY] night at Saint Andrews Hall. Special guests Coyote Clean Up, Lord Scrummage, and Doc Waffles.

$5. Doors open at 9pm.
