The group “100 Black Men of Greater Detroit” is working to improve the health of African American men in the region this weekend.

The group is partnering with Blue Cross Blue Shield to hold the “Man Up For Better Health” event on Belle Isle Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Bob Johnson once served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Detroit Medical Center. He’s helping to organize the event.

Johnson joined WDET's Jerome Vaughn recently to talk about the group’s goals.
