"All we wanted to create, when we talked about this, was the kind of place that we'd seek out if we went to another city."

A new restaurant called Wright and Co. has taken space in the historic Wright-Kay Building on Woodward and John R, downtown Detroit. There’s been a wait to get in since doors opened just a couple weeks ago.

Wright & Co. is downtown's hottest and perhaps most handsome new restaurant, but its concept keeps the customer's pocket-book in mind as much it does ambiance.

Executive Chef and co-owner Marc Djozlija was the man running the show at Wolfgang Puck Steak and Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina at MGM Grand Detroit. Serial entrepreneur Dave Kwiatkowski is the proprietor of the quite popular Sugar House craft cocktail bar in Corktown.

The two have teamed-up to create an eatery and bar where craft cocktails and a well thought out wine list complement a contemporary American menu.

For the latest Culture City Fork & Cork interview, WDET's Travis Wright swung by Wright & Co to speak with Djozlija and Kwiatkowski about their quick success.
