Meet The Candidates For Troy Mayor: Faris Alami

May 3, 2013

Voters in Troy will elect a new mayor on Tuesday. The winner will fill the remaining term of Janice Daniels, who was recalled last year. There are six candidates on the ballot, including Faris Alami, a software developer who moved from Phoenix to Troy in 2004. He’s married and has three children, and he says he’s thought about getting into Troy politics before, but the timing was never right. Alami told WDET’s Pat Batcheller the recall election changed that. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.

Besides Alami, there are five other candidates in Tuesday's special election. They include Jon Desjardins, David Elsas, Marty Knollenberg, Scott Welborn, and incumbent Dane Slater.
