Fred Durhal Makes His Case For Mayor

November 27, 2012

State Representative Fred Durhal, Jr. will likely face a crowded race for Detroit Mayor next year. The head of the Legislative Black Caucus became an official candidate this week, promising to fix the city’s financial crisis by relying on his experience at different levels of government. Before being elected in 2008, Durhal was a top aide to city, county, and federal lawmakers for many years. WDET's Pat Batcheller talked with Durhal about his experience, and his goals if he’s elected. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.

Durhal isn't the only state lawmaker running for mayor. House colleague Lisa Howze declared her candidacy in February.
