One of two Boblo Island boats, the S.S. Columbia, pulled away from the Detroit area for what will likely be the last time. A non-profit on the East Coast purchased the century-old steamship, which will exit the Great Lakes in Toledo. Detroit Free Press writer Dan Austin was in Ecorse this week as the Columbia left the area. Austin spoke with WDET's Laura Weber-Davis about the Columbia's legacy and historical significance.
