Bentivolio Wins Michigan's 11th District

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

Republican Kerry Bentivolio has won Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, the region previously represented by Thaddeus McCotter. Bentivolio told a crowd of about 100 in Novi that he was honored to have won both the full term, and the five week balance of McCotter’s term.

“What can I say? I have a speech here, but I just want to say I love you…thank you very, very much for this opportunity. You worked very hard for it. God blessed us. I hope he continues to bless us, because we’re going to do the right thing. We’re going to go to Washington and we’re going to represent the 11th District like it’s never been represented before.”

Many supporters at Bentivolio’s victory party appeared both excited for the conservative Republican, and disheartened that President Obama was elected for a second term. Bentivolio beat Democratic challenger Doctor Syed Taj.
