State May Help Ease Backlog Of Untested Rape Kits In Detroit

Governor Rick Snyder wants lawmakers in Lansing to approve $4,000,000 to help pay for testing rape kits abandoned in a Detroit police storage rooms. Thousands of untested rape kits were found in 2009 – a time when Detroit’s crime lab closed and the state took over forensic duties.
