Niagara Does Battle with "War Paint"

It’s been almost a decade since Detroit artist Niagara has hosted a new show of work in her hometown. Her latest show “War Paint” opens at Re:View Contemporary Gallery in Midtown Detroit, Saturday night.

WDET’s Rob St. Mary spoke to Niagara recently about her newest series of images featuring femme fatales lacing up their boots in a World War Two era style born out of her love of history. Niagara also discusses recently events related to her work including the Destroy All Monsters retrospective in L.A. last fall and the death of her friend, and Destroy All Monsters collaborator, Mike Kelley.
