Macomb Exec Says Water Authority Could Drain Resources

January 20, 2014

One of the many sea changes that occurred during Detroit’s recent journey through bankruptcy was the creation of a long-discussed regional water authority.

The Great Lakes Water Authority will give Detroit’s suburbs their first real voice in setting the initial rates for customers.

The communities involved will lease Detroit’s water infrastructure for a $50 million annual fee.

Hackel talked about it with WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter.
