Lions Limp Into Playoffs

December 29, 2014

The National Football League’s playoff bracket is set. And it is rare territory for one team in the post-season – the Detroit Lions. In the past 15 seasons the Lions have made the NFL playoffs exactly twice – and now must hope its top ranked defense can slow down the Dallas Cowboys and bruising running back DeMarco Murray. In other action, the injury-riddled Arizona Cardinals face a Carolina Panthers team that earned a playoff berth despite losing more games than it won during the season.
The Cincinnati Bengals take on the Indianapolis Colts, while the Baltimore Ravens battle bitter division rival Pittsburgh. Awaiting the victors are teams with first-round byes – the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.
