Lawsuit Challenging Emergency Manager Law Moves Forward

A federal judge has cleared the way for plaintiffs to proceed with a portion of a lawsuit challenging Michigan’s emergency manager statute. The judge dismissed most of the suit but ruled that plaintiffs can pursue the claim that the law discriminates against cities with large African American populations.
