Late Rally By Cowboys Knocks Lions Out Of Playoffs

December 5, 2014

It’s one playoff game and done for the Detroit Lions, as the Dallas Cowboys staged a dramatic comeback Sunday to win in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs. Detroit was three minutes away from drowning the cries of “same old Lions” with a Wild Card playoff victory. Instead it was Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo who silenced his critics with a memorable comeback to lead Dallas to victory 24-to-20. Detroit had a chance at the end but quarterback Matthew Stafford fumbled twice on the Lions’ final possession and then was sacked to essentially end the game. Dallas now faces the high-powered Green Bay Packers in the next round of the playoffs. Detroit faces an off-season of questions – including whether standout defensive tackle Ndamakong Suh returns to the team next year.
