In-School Job Training Underway In Detroit

The non-profit group USA Funds is giving more than a million dollars to students at four Detroit high schools to help train them to enter the workforce. City officials say Detroit’s job market is ready to boom and schools need to help students learn how to negotiate the job market. The in-school job training launched last year at the Detroit Public Schools' Cody Medicine and Community Health, Cody Public Leadership Academy, Osborn College Prep and Osborne Evergreen. Officials touted the new funding at an event that included the US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development – and former Mayor of Youngstown, Ohio -- Jay Williams.
