Detroit Opens New Public Safety Headquarters

The City of Detroit has opened its new Public Safety Headquarters. Once the MGM Grand Detroit Casino, the building has undergone a $60 million renovation and will now house the city's police, fire, EMS and IT departments. Former Detroit Police Chief Chester Logan says the cost of the new headquarters won't have an adverse effect of public safety.

"Hopefully this will help elevate morale, because the funding for this building came out of capital funds. It didn't come out of general funds used to pay police officers. The funding for this came as a result of bonds and things like that." - Former Police Chief Chester Logan.
