Detroit Lions Clinch Playoff Spot

December 22, 2014

The Lions are officially in the NFL playoffs following a loss this weekend by the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit’s victory over division rival Chicago. The Lions knew the team was in the post-season before the opening kickoff in Chicago -- and Detroit kind of played like it. It was an uninspired effort against a Bears team led by a back-up quarterback who had not started a game since 2010. The Lions turned the ball over three times and trailed mid-way through the fourth quarter before finally seizing control for good. Detroit can now seize control of its playoff destiny. They face a season-ending showdown against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field with first place in the division – and a possible first-round playoff bye – at stake.
