Building With Painting Of Detroit Racial Flashpoint Torn Down

A Detroit building that featured an iconic painting documenting a flashpoint in the city’s history has been leveled. The portrait was a likeness of Malice Green -- an alleged addict who was African American and beaten by two white Detroit police officers in 1992. The incident inflamed racial tensions in the city and the officers were found eventually found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
