City of Detroit auditors reported last week that between 2007 and 2011 more than $300,000 went missing from cash registers and other areas in the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center where people typically pay their property taxes. Auditors say the believe the money was stolen and that the act reveals a troubling lack of safeguards over money transactions at Detroit's City Hall.
