Arab Activist Group Seeks Fed Probe Into Bank Account Closures

March 20, 2013

A group representing Arab-Americans in Metro Detroit who say they have abruptly had their bank accounts closed is officially requesting that the U-S Justice Department investigate the matter. The Arab-American Civil Rights League says most of the closed accounts belong to professionals who had long banked at the institutions involved. WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter talked about it with the League’s Executive Director Rana Abbas. She says her organization has received a large number of complaints about the situation.
