Harbaugh Becomes Michigan's Head Football Coach

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh will be the University of Michigan’s next football coach.

Harbaugh comes to Michigan after a disappointing season with the 49ers. He replaces Brady Hoke, who was fired earlier this month. Harbaugh says, despite Michigan’s recent performance, he has high expectations for the Wolverines.

“Like you know your name, I know Michigan football and believe in Michigan football. And, you know, that will not be a hard job.”

Harbaugh played quarterback for the Wolverines under legendary coach Bo Schembechler in the 1980's. Harbaugh has signed a seven-year contract worth 35 million dollars, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in college football.
