Thursday, December 25, 2014

While most Metro Detroiters have the day off, there are many others who are working today. Many are Jews and Muslims are giving their time – so their Christian colleagues can have the day off. It’s a project called Mitzvah Day.

Nearly a thousand volunteers will take part in activities ranging from taking care of seniors in nursing homes to delivering toys to families in need. Janet Berman is the Co-Chair of Mitzvah Day. She spoke with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn.
