Kidnapping Prompts New Protections For Late-Shift Workers

A West Michigan woman vanished from the convenience store where she worked the night shift in April. Investigators believe Jessica Heeringa was kidnapped, and friends say she wouldn’t willingly walk away from her 3-year-old son. She’s still missing, and while police keep looking for her, a state lawmaker wants tighter security at convenience stores that stay open all night.
