Snyder Pushes Legislature To Pass Road Funding Measure

Monday, December 1, 2014

Governor Rick Snyder says the state legislature needs to act now to improve Michigan roads. Snyder held a roundtable discussion in Southfield Monday morning on the poor condition of state roads. He says the need for additional resources is clear.

“Do you know of anyone who says we have good roads in this state? Nobody. And that puts it in perspective that nobody likes our roads. The question is – are they all of a sudden going to get better on their own? The answer is no.”

Earlier in the morning, Snyder inspected a section of the Lodge Freeway near Meyers in Detroit…where a freeway retaining wall is crumbling.

The governor is urging the legislature to pass a plan to invest $1.2 billion dollars a year into Michigan roads.
