Chris Chelios Writes About Life On And Off The Ice

November 11, 2014

"With hard work and some luck involved, obviously--right place, right time, right coach--anything's possible."

Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Chelios.

Chris Chelios earned his reputation as one of the toughest and hardest-working hockey players of all time. He helped Detroit win two Stanley Cups and has been called the greatest American-born player ever. He’s written a new book about his life on and off the ice. It’s called "Made In America", co-authored by hockey journalist Kevin Allen. Chelios tells WDET's Pat Batcheller says he learned his "do what it takes" work from his parents, who owned a bar and restaurant in Chicago. Click on the audio links above to hear the conversation.
