Saunteel Jenkins, Detroit City Council member and soon-to-be CEO of The Heat and Warmth Fund.

Detroit City Council member Saunteel Jenkins is leaving to become the CEO of The Heat and Warmth Fund. She announced her resignation on Friday, October 17. Jenkins was elected in 2009, and re-elected last year. She served briefly as council president after Charles Pugh resigned in 2013. Jenkins tells WDET's Pat Batcheller she's dedicated to serving Detroit residents, but is looking forward to doing that in a different way. Click on the audio links above to hear the conversation.
