WSU Med School Dean Mends Relationships, Prepares For New Job

The Dean of Wayne State’s School of Medicine will take a new job at the end of the academic year. Dr. Valerie Parisi has accepted a position at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She’s been the medical school dean at Wayne State for over five years. She tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that when she took her current job, she had to repair a broken relationship between the school and the Detroit Medical Center and its CEO at the time, Mike Duggan.
