Thursday, October 3, 2013

Wayne State University President M. Roy Wilson says the school is uniquely positioned to grow its enrollment in the 21st Century. He made his first major address to the entire university Wednesday. Wilson says Wayne State’s status as an urban university gives students an edge that other universities can’t offer.

"It is now time to focus on an urban agenda with the many health, economic and educational challenges confronting urban communities and that responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of urban universities like Wayne State.

Wilson also says he wants to increase the university’s focus on research. Wilson was selected as Wayne State’s 12th president in June.
