October 1, 2014

"You must have a driver's license or a state ID or other types of ID so that (poll workers) can be sure that you are who you say you are."

Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson.

October 6th is the last day to register to vote in the November election. Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson says legal residents can register at her branch offices or at their local clerks’ offices. She tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the state is reaching out to college students who plan to vote. She also reminds voters to check both sides of their ballots on November 4th. Many of the judicial races and proposals may appear on the back of the ballot. Click on the audio links above to hear the conversation.
