Feeding The Need: Meals On Wheels Grapples With Budget Cuts

Meals on Wheels programs are already struggling to feed needy seniors in Metro Detroit due to budget cuts at the local and federal levels. And more cuts could be coming at the end of the month, with the threat of another budget showdown in Washington. Kevin Kelley is in charge of senior and veterans services for Wayne County. He tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that, so far, no one’s missing out on meals because of the budget cuts--but that could change.
