Monday, September 2, 2013

The 50th anniversary of the March on Washington took place on Wednesday.

On August 28th, 1963, nearly 250-thousand people from around the country marched to the Mall in Washington D.C. to hear remarks from civil rights activists. The climax of the event was Doctor Martin Luther King, Junior’s “I Have A Dream” speech.

One of the forces working to make sure the march took place was United Auto Workers President Walter Reuther.

Since it’s Labor Day, we're giving you a chance to hear Reuther’s entire speech from the event.
