Dozens Object To Detroit's Bankruptcy: What They Could Gain, Or Lose

More than a hundred objections have been filed against Detroit’s bankruptcy filing. Most of the challenges came from creditors, unions, pension funds, retirees, and even a small group of residents. Judge Steven Rhodes will consider all of the objections…when he decides whether to approve the city’s Chapter Nine petition. Douglas Bernstein is a partner at the law firm of Plunkett Cooney in Bloomfield Hills. He manages the banking, bankruptcy, and creditors rights practice group.
