Tuesday, August 12, 2014

Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano has declared a state of emergency. Heavy rainfall Monday caused flooding throughout the region. In some areas, as much as six inches of rain fell in just a few hours.

Governor Snyder surveyed flood damage in the area Tuesday. Ficano says he hopes his declaration of a county emergency will start the process of bringing in federal resources to deal with the aftermath of the flooding. He spoke with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn.
